QA ENGINEER
Duties and responsibilities:
You will work with project and IT management to determine resource needs and test requirements.
You will design and document test plans and test cases for both automated and manual testing. You will also implement processes using effective QA methodologies and best practices to maintain quality standards, controls, and procedures.
Company's requirements for the QA will grow over time and it will be a definite plus if you have the capability and willingness to grow along with the organization's needs and be able to take more responsibility.
You will also manage bug databases, fixes, product releases and build activities and assure their functionality - to ensure our high quality standards. You will create and maintain all testing documentation, participate in test planning and test execution for multiple short-cycle releases, and provide regular reports on the status and progress of all products being tested. You will also serve as the main contact between QA and the Production, Engineering and Art teams.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of software testing experience, preferable in game industry
- Strong understanding and experience with software game development, automation tools and QA applications
- Strong understanding of and experience with QA practices including; user testing, regression testing, load testing, content testing, multi-player testing, performance testing, compatibility testing and project completeness testing
- Experience coding in at least one programming language such as Perl, Python, C#, C, C++
- Ability to identify problems, analyze the situation and make appropriate recommendations and decisions
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Proactive in identifying problems early and to prioritize deliverables
- Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and brief manner to a range of audiences, including non-technical ones
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently and with diplomacy under pressure
Assets:
- 1+ years game testing experience as a lead tester
- Experience in developing on next-gen consoles (Xbox 360, PS3) or PC/DX9
- Expertise on console manufacturer certification procedures and TCR's
- BA or BS in Computer Science or a related fields
- Experience in game development with Unreal Engine
- Passion for developing and playing video games
- Passion for 1st or 3rd person action-adventure games
